Damavand is a symbol of Iran and ascending it is the dream of many adventurous travelers. The Majority of people climb Mt Damavand in the summer as a trekking activity but at the end of winter or beginning of spring when the mountain has a lot of snow is perfect for ski touring. We have created a trip to ascend Damavand with skis for challenger skiers. The trip is designed to have a few days of ski touring in Dobarar Mountains for the start. Dobarar mountains has a couple of peaks about 4000m which is in the southern side of Mt Damavand and has a very good quality snow for ski touring. Besides that, it’s perfect for warm up and acclimatization before the actual climb to mount Damavand. The plan in Dobarar was to stay in a nearby village and make base and choose a different peak to ascend and ski in every day. luck was on their side on this trip as they had perfect weather most of the days. They did a lot of photography in the high mountains of Dobarar which you can see in here. After this part, we transferred the group toward Mt Damavand base camp where they rested and the next day drove them from the 1st camp towards the 2nd camp. In the midway, they started skiing towards the 3rd camp and carried the bags with porters. In March and April and most of the year, we have snow above the 2nd camp (3100m) so they couldn’t use mules to transfer their baggage. Mount Taftan in Iran Active Volcano Peak The massive Mount Taftan is situated only 70 km away from the Pakistan border, southeast of Iran. It is an isolated, active volcanic mountain located in Sistan and Baluchestan province. South of the mountain is Khash, the nearest city. Mt. Taftan has two very famous summits with Chehel Tan peak (Madehkuh) at 3941 m above sea level being the highest one. Iran has numerous mountains over 4000 m, but this, in particular, is one of the more well-known peaks, since it is a solitary mountain in the corner of Iran, with an active volcanic peak. It is attached to Dasht-e lut desert. Taftan volcanic mountain is a sub-range of Iran’s volcanic arc, with Bazman Mountain in Iran and Sultan Kuh in Pakistan. This volcanic arc has formed over Cretaceous-Eocene sedimentary layers and is derived from the subduction of the oceanic Arabian plate under Iran at the Makran trench. There is only a 130 km distance between each base camp from Zahedan, the capital city of the province. The total length of the Taftan mountain range is 12 km, with two very high peaks. The range is surrounded by unspoiled nature, consisting of rivers, lakes, trees, flora and fauna that live around the mountain. There are three lakes at the top of the Taftan mountain range. Two of the rivers have white and fresh water, whilst the third has salty water. The base camp of this mountain is 2500 m above sea level, with the shelter at a height of 3228 m. Taftan peak is not a technical mountain to climb. Most people, with a good level of fitness, can hike up to the peak. The climbing season runs from March to November, with the best period in April and May.

MT Damavand with bicycle The video is about an expedition mountain biking trip to ascent Damavand Mountain (5610m) which was performed in July of 2019. Mt Damavand is Iran’s highest peak and it’s the highest volcanic mountain of Asia. The mountain is in the southern coast of the Caspian Sea and is in the north west of Tehran province. The group was from Slovenia and the Adventure Iran’s team led this expedition trip. It was a one-week tour starting and finishing in Tehran. The journey started with a two days MTB tour in the Lar national park as a warm-up. Lar is a protected area located on the foothills of MT Damavand and it's in the south west of the mountain. They also slept one night inside the park in high altitudes which is perfect for acclimatization when you come around the sea level. After finishing the Lar trip they continued cycling towards the southern part of Mt Damavand and slept one night in the Mount Damavand shelter which is the first camp of Damavand and The next day transferred the bicycles to the 2nd camp. From there they loaded all of the camping equipment and other stuff to the mules and started mountain biking from the 2nd camp at an altitude of about 3100m toward the 3rd camp(4200m). In our original plan the next day was acclimatization day, the day we generally ascend with bicycles up to 5000m and then leave the bikes somewhere in the mountains and descend to the 3rd camp. On this trip the physical fitness of the group was very good and they decided to skip the acclimatization phase. They woke in the dusk and packed to ascend towards the peak. They were at the summit around noon and all of the group reached

Mount Sarak Chal in Iran Mount Sarak Chal (or Sarakchal) is one of the highest summits in the central Alborz Mountains in Iran, at 4210m above sea level. There are three Sarak Chal peaks which are located on the famous Kolon Bastak-Sarak Chal mountain ridge line. All three mountains are above 4000 m. The closest village to this mountain is Shemshak, the last one on the famous mountainous road of Tehran-Fasham. It is 60 km away from downtown Tehran. As a matter of interest, one of the most notable ski resorts in Iran for professional skiers is in Shemshak village. The altitude of the village is about 2700 m above sea level, which is the starting point of the trek to Sarak Chal peak. There is a shelter at 3492 m on the way to the peak, which is convenient as it is also the ideal location for acclimatization. There is a 15 km famous ridgeline above Shemshak village from west to east, which starts from Mount Koloon Bastak (4170m) in the west and ends at Mount Sarak Chal 3 (4210m) in the east. Between these two mountains, there are the two peaks of Sarak Chal 1 (4080m) and Sarak Chal 2 (4100m), making this ridgeline very challenging. From the peak, you have an excellent view of the immense Central Alborz mountains. In clear weather, you can see most of them, such as the Abak (3520m), Kholeno (4387m), Azadkuh (4350m), and Borj (4326m) mountains as well as the mighty Damavand (5610m), the roof of Iran. The season runs from mid-spring till the beginning of autumn. Summertime is the most popular period for ascending the mountain, as the weather is more stable for trekking. Mountain Biking in Lavasan This video is made of the highlights of a mountain biking tour in Lavasan that we did for a group of professional cyclists from Slovenia. They arrived in the June of 2019 as it is in the middle of summer, it’s the best time to ascend the mountains. They even brought their own bikes to ascend Mt Damavand (5610m), Iran’s highest mountain. Beside MT. Damavand, we prepared another MTB trip for them for a much exciting and adventurous mountain biking experience in Iran. They started their trip from Adventure Iran’s office in Lavasan by bicycle and ascended one of the mountains around the city. From there they had a single track MTB through a canyon and forest and a stop by Latian lake. the trip came to an end with them returning to our office. Lavasan city is the center of Lavasanat which is something of a suburb for Tehran, it is located in the north east of Tehran province with an average altitude of 1700m. It's located in a huge valley and now it's one of the most famous cities in the country with plenty of mountains. It's located in the central Alborz Mountains. plenty of villages surround the city. The southern part of central Alborz mountains has a bunch of high mountains like Mt. Kholeno, Mt Sarakchal, Mt Kolon Bastak and Mt Kharsang, that create a famous river called Jajrood. The end of this river reaches Lavasan and has made a lake called Latian in the southern part of the city. Also there is a dam with the same name “Latian dam” located in the south east of Lavasan, which you can see in most parts of the video. Mount Sabalan 3rd Tallest Volcanoes in Asia Mount Sabalan is the third highest peak in Iran at an altitude of 4811 m. It is located in Ardabil province, the northwest part of the country. Sabalan or Savalan Mountain is an inactive volcano at 4811 m and is one of the most beautiful mountains in Iran. So far, not too many foreign climbers choose this pinnacle as it is in the northwest corner of the country, far from the capital. However, it certainly appeals to enterprising climbers, looking for something particular. Being so far north, the peak is covered with snow for most of the year. At the summit, there is an impressive and alluring lake situated at over 4784 m, making it one of the world’s highest lakes. Mount Sabalan is an inactive stratovolcano in Iran. The lake has been formed in the volcano’s crater, which is covered with ice from October to May. From the peak, there is a 360° panoramic view of the area. When the weather is clear, you can see numerous mountains in the northwestern part of Iran and the Caspian Sea region. Furthermore, flora and fauna are abundant around the mountain which adds to the magnificent view, making it even more attractive. Moreover, many nomads live around the mountain. 4X4 Safari in Dasht-E Lut desert The clip is an adventurous 4x4 desert safari in the heart of Dasht-e Lut desert that we arranged for an Italian group, performed in November of 2018. Dasht-e Lut is one of the two main deserts which are located in the south east of Iran, it's one of the most beautiful Iranian attractions for travelers who are looking for a bit of sun and heat. Lut is a natural world heritage site registered in the UNESCO list of Iran in 2016. Back to the video, The Journey was a 5 days expedition desert tour with jeeps inside Dasht-e Lut desert to visit the most attractive places of this beautiful desert. Dasht-e Lut’s Lut plain is very large with an area of about 2,278,015 ha which covers nearly three provinces of Iran. South Khorasan province is north west, Sistan and Baluchistan province is in the east, and Kerman province is located in south west of Lut desert. The group entered the desert through the north western side in South Khorasan and exited from the south east of the desert in Kerman province and drove an average of 100-200 kilometers per day to explore different sights of the desert and also slept in different regions every night. They mostly camped throughout the journey and our team managed the cooking and setting up the tents. They crossed Rig-e Yalan which as you might know is the famous huge sand hill and Kalouts fantasy city which is a special tight structure of sand created with rain and wind during several hundreds of years. Iranian UNESCO Site of Hawraman (Uramanat) Hawraman (or Uramanat) is the name of a historical valley located in the mountains shared between the two provinces of Kurdistan and Kermanshah in the west of Iran. Uraman is the Kurdish word for Hawraman which is pronounced Huraaman. Generally, in different parts of Iran, it is called Uraman, Uraaman, or Avroman. It means the land of Ahura Mazda (the supreme god in ancient Iranian religion) in ancient Persian language. It is also the name of the mountainous region of Hawraman valley. In June 2021, The Cultural Landscape of Hawraman/Uramanat was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as the 26th tangible cultural heritage of Iran at the 44th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. This valley, unknown for many years, is one of the main natural/historical attractions of the west of Iran. Along with the long history of the region and Kurdish people, the valley has many villages which have unique stair-like architecture. The villages are special in the way the rural areas house many dense and step-like rows of accommodation in such a way that the roof of each house forms the yard of the upper one, making it an exceptional sight to see. The rich culture of the Hawramani people which is famous for their hospitality is one of the other attractions of Uramanat and makes this destination different from other regions. Since 3000 BCE Kurdish tribes have inhabited the region and lived on the economy based on agro-pastoral activities in this valley. Trans-Iranian Railway 25th Iranian UNESCO World Heritage site (Reg. June 2021) One of the forgotten tourist attractions in Iran was traveling by train and passing through scenic areas with different climates and spectacular sceneries. Thanks to joining the UNESCO World Heritage List in June 2021 with the help of Iran's Cultural Heritage Organization, it can be brought back to life. Iran has many routes on its railway lines, with each of them having different historical, cultural, and tourism aspects, connecting all cities and villages of this vast country differently. One of the lines that is of great global importance is the Trans-Iranian Railway which is the northeast to the southwest line connecting the Caspian Sea to the Persian Gulf. The length of this long railway is about 1,394 km, which is one of the most strategic railways in Iran, passing through four completely different climatic regions, including the Caspian Sea, the huge forests of Hyrcanian (UNESCO Natural site), Iran Mountain ranges (Alborz and Zagros ranges), rivers, highlands, plains and a desert (Dasht-e Kavir), Persian Caravanserai in the Ancient Silk Road and ending in the Persian Gulf which is a totally different story from all of the mentioned climates. Two New UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Iran (25 June 2021) Since 1978, every year, UNESCO picks a number of World Heritage Sites for their "outstanding universal value" in the two sections of cultural and natural sites. This year in June 2021, UNESCO has picked two Iran Heritage Sites for the list alongside others from around the world. In 2021, 37 new sites were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list and it was a big week for Iran with two historic sites achieving UNESCO status. Iran UNESCO World Heritage Sites registered in 2021: 1. Iran UNESCO Heritage of Trans-Iranian Railway Iran Railway The first site is an old and long Railway in Iran from the southwest of the country to the northeast of it. This masterwork of engineering covers 1,394 kilometers, from the Caspian Sea to the Persian Gulf, and goes through 4 different climate regions and two mountain ranges (Alborz & Zagros), Tehran (Capital), Hyrcanian Forests, and Iran plateau, that are home to people from various ethnic and linguistic backgrounds. The railway is now the 25th Iranian title on the World Heritage List. That makes the country one of the richest in the world in terms of protecting cultural heritage. With this new UNESCO site, Iran becomes the fifth country in the world with a railway designated as a world heritage site. The name of this famous North-South Railway is Rah-Ahan Shomal-Jonub in Persian. It was completed in 1938, after 11 years of construction, which involved massive works on mountains and terrains up and down the country. 2.
