Lar National Park Mountain Biking This video is about one of Adventure Iran’s mountain biking trips in one of the most beautiful national parks of Iran. it is located in the northeast of Tehran province, only 70 kilometers (43 mi) from the capital. Lar national park is a protected region so it is not open to the public. About Lar National Park It’s managed by the Iranian Environmental Organization. Travelers need to get a permit for entering the park and the mentioned organization issues them for interested travelers. We apply for the certificate one month in advance as it takes a couple of weeks of paperwork. The gates of the park are open only during the summertime. Stockbreeders and cattlemen enter for their summer KOOCH from lower altitudes to upper altitudes, their seasonal move. KOOCH is a Persian word meaning seasonal relocation of accommodation and most tribes, nomads, and villagers of Iran still do this to this day. They relocate with their hordes of animals like sheep, jotas, dogs, hens, and roosters along with their family for better weather conditions and food for their animals. Lar is the key location for most tribes around Tehran capital during the summertime. At the end of the summer when the weather is getting cold, they will move again to warmer locations in lower altitudes till the end of spring of the next year. Lar National park with 30,000-hectare pf property is home to a wide range of flora, fauna, and wild animals. Along with its rich nature, there is a big dam inside of the park called Lar dam. it is created by the high mountains of central Alborz and is fed by many spring waters of the surrounding region. Best time for Cycling in Iran (A cycling guide for travelling in Iran with a bicycle) When is the best time to travel to Iran for a cycling holiday? You can cycle all year round as every corner of the country has something to offer, depending on the season and the region, which is a great advantage. This means we do not have a high season, low season or off season for cyclists like many other countries. To answer this question, we need to explain a little more about Iran to find out when is the best time for your visit. Iran is a vast country with a lot of high mountains, deserts, rivers, many national parks and natural protected areas. It has a varied climate with two seas, the Caspian Sea in the north and the Persian Gulf in the south, and has different ecosystems. It means when we have winter in the north, people are skiing in the Alborz mountains, north of Tehran, whereas other people in the south are swimming in the Persian Gulf. Also, in summer when people in the southern part of Iran, or around the desert, are experiencing a very hot temperature between 50-60 centigrade, other people in the north have a pleasant temperature of 20-25 centigrade in the Alborz mountains. These varieties make ideal conditions for cycling tours in Iran, so depending on your time of travel and your interests, you can cycle all year round. Iran is not yet a well-known cycling destination among cyclists because of the lack of information for travellers and a lack of marketing for cycling tours. There aren’t any cycling maps or specific official trails for cycling here. Adventure Iran is a pioneer company which has started serious official research concerning the potential cycling

Mountain Biking in the Persian Gulf The video is about an Iranian Off the Beaten Track cycling route in the southern part of the country from Bandar Abbas to Shiraz that passes through the coastal road of the Persian Gulf. The trip started from Tehran with a night train towards Bandar Abbas Sea port. Our crew carried the mountain bikes with the jeep and then joined the group in Bandar Abbas. They started the cycling trip from there towards the west of the Persian Gulf through the coastal road. They passed a couple of sea ports like Kong and Siraaf sea port and visited a number of unknown villages with locals that have not seen many tourists in their life, which is an experience that cannot be found in many places. The fish market of each town and the colorful sea foods of each one, Visiting the ship making factory and the lifestyle of the people who live on the coast and Passing Higer canyon on the way to Shiraz are some other exceptional experiences in the trip. Qaleh Dokhtar and Ardashir palace of the Firuzabad were also visited, which are the UNESCO sites on the way to Shiraz. The tour was done in January which is in the middle of winter in Iran but in the south near the Persian Gulf, temperatures are perfect for traveling and cycling. Cycling in Abyaneh & Maranjab Desert Iran has a lot of region in the deserts for cycling and in some part of the desert you can see the icons of the ancient Silk road like caravanserais and historical castles and forts. On this trip we have chosen a desert region in the south of Tehran province which is in the north side of Esfahan province. Maranjab desert is the name of a region in the north west of Dasht-e Kavir desert and Abyaneh is a historical famous village located in the west of it. May is the end of season for desert activity and cycling as well. So the group reached the desert on the edge of the hot season but fortunately the weather was a bit breezy and it was not difficult for our cyclist to endure. They started this trip from Esfahan and passed a couple of mountain regions to reach Abyaneh village. The village is located in the mountains with cool temperatures in spring and sometimes snow in the winter but it is very close to the desert which has such a different temperature. They slept a night in the village and the next day continued cycling toward the Maranjab desert. They passed through different landscapes and terrains on their way to there. The tour started via a paved road from Abyaneh which was an amazing road without any cars or vehicles passing and then crossed gravel roads when they entered the desert and then dirt and sand roads in the middle of the desert. In some parts they passed the sand dune hills and in one region crossed the edge of the flat desert area which was a part of the Salt Lake of the desert. At the end of the day they reached the Maranjab

MTB in Dena National Park Dena is the name of a protected area and it's on the list of Iran’s National Parks. In addition, Dena is the name of a famous mountain chain about 80 km above 4000m which is located in the southern part of Zagros mountain range. We performed a lot of tours for climbing the high peaks of Dena chains as it has about 40 mountains above 4000m. This time we designed a mountain biking tour to visit the remaining highlights of the park, passing different parts of the area. We performed it in April 2019. As you can see in the video we still had snow in some parts of the roads as well as a lot of snow on the peaks. This made an unforgettable mountain trip for our clients who came from Switzerland. Most parts of the route were single track and they passed many villages and rural areas in Dena region. The support planned for this trip with our 4x4 cars, was one of the most challenging parts of this trip as we had an avalanche a couple of days before the trip and the snow destroyed some part of the dirt road which we have chosen for support. We spent some time maintaining the road with the help of our clients to cross this part and it was one of the most daring parts of the trip for us and our guests. The trip started in Yasuj and finished in Esfahan city. Meeting nomadic people and socializing with them was one of the good experiences the group had on this trip and it was a surprise for the locals as they have never seen a bunch of cyclists together passing this region before. Hope you enjoy the video and if you like

If you are interested in cycling from one big city to another, you have to find a minor or back country road. Often it is better to exit the highway in urban areas and start your cycling trip using the appropriate back country roads for your cycling tour. Mountain Biking in Lar National Park This video is about a part of a long cycling trip with a Swiss mountain biking group who started their trip from the southern part of Iran towards the north of it and this part was the end of their adventure in Iran. The location is Lar National Park which is located in the north east of Tehran Province. This adventure started from a village on the west side of the park and finished in Polour village which is located in Mazandaran province. Polour is located in the south face of Mt Damavand nearby Haraaz road. The trip was performed in the month of May in 2019. Many tours were planned by us in the park during May in the years and we have never seen huge volumes of snow on the way but in that year we had a lot of snow in early spring in April and it made some good challenges for the group in the canyon. We knew such a thing would happen and sent two of our guides to check the route before we sent the group. We had a session the night before with the group and we explained the situation to them. and prior to that month of the year, water levels are a bit high and there’s a lot of river crossing to do so a few numbers of people skipped this part and we send them to the Lar valley through another gate with our 4x4 cars. You can see in the video that the scenery changes after the canyon is passed and from the snowy situation of the canyon which looks like winter, we enter another region which looks like spring with green fields. In general, this situation made for an amazing trip for
