Lar National Park Mountain Biking Lar National Park MTB video is about one of Adventure Iran’s mountain biking trips in one of the most beautiful national parks of Iran. it is located in the northeast of Tehran province, only 70 kilometers (43 mi) from the capital. Lar national park is a protected region so it is not open to the public. About Lar National Park It’s managed by the Iranian Environmental Organization. Travelers need to get a permit for entering the park and the mentioned organization issues them for interested travelers. We apply for the certificate one month in advance as it takes a couple of weeks of paperwork. The gates of the park are open only during the summertime. Stockbreeders and cattlemen enter for their summer KOOCH from lower altitudes to upper altitudes, their seasonal move. KOOCH is a Persian word meaning seasonal relocation of accommodation and most tribes, nomads, and villagers of Iran still do this to this day. They relocate with their hordes of animals like sheep, jotas, dogs, hens, and roosters along with their family for better weather conditions and food for their animals. Lar is the key location for most tribes around Tehran capital during the summertime. At the end of the summer when the weather is getting cold, they will move again to warmer locations in lower altitudes till the end of spring of the next year. Cycling from Shiraz to Tehran 1st Trip The video is about an unforgettable long trip with a Swiss cyclist group who had dreams of traveling to Iran for many years. They were fit and with a good health condition were ready to tackle this tour. The journey started from Shiraz which is near the south of the country. The purpose of the trip was to cycle from Shiraz towards Tehran through Iran mountains and deserts. They passed through southern parts of Zagros mountains mostly from Dena Mountains in Zagros as well as Central Alborz Mountains. In addition, they passed through a couple of national parks and protected areas like Lar and Dena and crossed the Maranjab desert which is a part of Dasht-e Kavir. This means experiencing a different variety of climates from high mountains to flat deserts was the point of this cycling trip in Iran. Alongside mountain biking that occurred throughout the journey, they visited nearly all UNESCO sites in the main urban destinations of Iran. Traveling to Shiraz, Esfahan, Kashan and Tehran was on the list of this adventure tour. It was about 16 days of cycling and they have a couple of rest days in between. We had about 20 to 25 degrees temperature in the hottest locations which were the daytimes in the desert up to the coldest place which was in the heights of the Alborz Mountains. The best season for this trip is April, May, October and November. Cycling in Abyaneh & Maranjab Desert Iran has a lot of region in the deserts for cycling and in some part of the desert you can see the icons of the ancient Silk road like caravanserais and historical castles and forts. On this trip we have chosen a desert region in the south of Tehran province which is in the north side of Esfahan province. Maranjab desert is the name of a region in the north west of Dasht-e Kavir desert and Abyaneh is a historical famous village located in the west of it. May is the end of season for desert activity and cycling as well. So the group reached the desert on the edge of the hot season but fortunately the weather was a bit breezy and it was not difficult for our cyclist to endure. They started this trip from Esfahan and passed a couple of mountain regions to reach Abyaneh village. The village is located in the mountains with cool temperatures in spring and sometimes snow in the winter but it is very close to the desert which has such a different temperature. They slept a night in the village and the next day continued cycling toward the Maranjab desert. They passed through different landscapes and terrains on their way to there. The tour started via a paved road from Abyaneh which was an amazing road without any cars or vehicles passing and then crossed gravel roads when they entered the desert and then dirt and sand roads in the middle of the desert. In some parts they passed the sand dune hills and in one region crossed the edge of the flat desert area which was a part of the Salt Lake of the desert. At the end of the day they reached

Mountain Biking in Lar National Park This video is about a part of a long cycling trip with a Swiss mountain biking group who started their trip from the southern part of Iran towards the north of it and this part was the end of their adventure in Iran. The location is Lar National Park which is located in the north east of Tehran Province. This adventure started from a village on the west side of the park and finished in Polour village which is located in Mazandaran province. Polour is located in the south face of Mt Damavand nearby Haraaz road. The trip was performed in the month of May in 2019. Many tours were planned by us in the park during May in the years and we have never seen huge volumes of snow on the way but in that year we had a lot of snow in early spring in April and it made some good challenges for the group in the canyon. We knew such a thing would happen and sent two of our guides to check the route before we sent the group. We had a session the night before with the group and we explained the situation to them. and prior to that month of the year, water levels are a bit high and there’s a lot of river crossing to do so a few numbers of people skipped this part and we send them to the Lar valley through another gate with our 4x4 cars. You can see in the video that the scenery changes after the canyon is passed and from the snowy situation of the canyon which looks like winter, we enter another region which looks like spring with green fields. In general, this situation made for an amazing trip for

Tehran to Caspian Sea MTB The video is about a challenging mountain biking trip from the capital towards the coast of the Caspian Sea. The team of riders were Slovenian and they did this trip after their expedition MTB Damavand ascend. From Tehran to the Caspian Sea there are different treks through paved roads, dirt roads, mountains and single tracks. This mountain biking trip to the Caspian is through the mountains and single track roads which is the hardest path to the north of Iran. They chose the historical route that was used for trading between Tehran and the Caspian Sea’s nearby regions when there were no man made roads between towns. They passed Lar National Park, Yush village, Kandelus historical village, a couple of mountains, passes, ridge line and Hyrcanian Forest on the way and slept in local houses and a mountain lodge during the trip. There were a few rivers they had to cross and depending on the season it might be possible to see wild animals in the mountains. Also there are a couple of waterfalls after Lar Valley which is nice to have a stop in and rest on the trail. They finished this mountain biking trip in Nowshahr city in the Caspian coast and slept in a small hotel on the coast, and swimming in the sea at the end made the trip a wholesome one in this adventurous journey to Iran. Mountain Biking in Mt Parsoon The video is about the challenging mountain biking of Parsoon Mountain with a couple of Adventure Iran’s mountain biking guides on 6th of April 2018. Parsoon peak is about 3100m which is located in the southern side of central Alborz Mountains. It’s not far from the capital, which is Tehran, but is reachable via lavasan city that is located at the north south of it and it's considered a suburb for Tehran, and from there continue the main road to Afjeh village. The paved road finishes in Afjeh and the real biking adventures starts from there. there is a dirt road that leads you to another big plain called Dasht-e Havij which is several hundred meters higher than Afjeh. Dasht-e Havij is a base camp of a few high altitude peaks which surround this valley. Mt Parsoon (3100m), Mt Saka (3300m), Mt Rizan (3500m) and Mt Atashkooh (3713m) are the mountains you can ascend from Dasht-e Havij. Also there is an old mule road that goes to Dasht-e Lar (Means Lar valley) and from there connect you to the north of Iran in the Caspian Sea region. Locals used to use that road to transfer their goods to Caspian regions about a hundred years ago. On this adventurous trip we transferred the mountain bikes from Adventure Iran’s office in Lavasan to Dasht-e Havij, And from there, the trek started towards the peak. For most of the climb they pushed their bikes to the top of the mountain and sometimes even carried them on their shoulders. They reached the summit around noon and spent a few minutes resting and snacking. The weather was cloudy and there wasn’t much of a chance to see other central Alborz high peaks. On the way they saw another climber

MT Damavand with bicycle The video is about an expedition mountain biking trip to ascent Damavand Mountain (5610m) which was performed in July of 2019. Mt Damavand is Iran’s highest peak and it’s the highest volcanic mountain of Asia. The mountain is in the southern coast of the Caspian Sea and is in the north west of Tehran province. The group was from Slovenia and the Adventure Iran’s team led this expedition trip. It was a one-week tour starting and finishing in Tehran. The journey started with a two days MTB tour in the Lar national park as a warm-up. Lar is a protected area located on the foothills of MT Damavand and it's in the south west of the mountain. They also slept one night inside the park in high altitudes which is perfect for acclimatization when you come around the sea level. After finishing the Lar trip they continued cycling towards the southern part of Mt Damavand and slept one night in the Mount Damavand shelter which is the first camp of Damavand and The next day transferred the bicycles to the 2nd camp. From there they loaded all of the camping equipment and other stuff to the mules and started mountain biking from the 2nd camp at an altitude of about 3100m toward the 3rd camp(4200m). In our original plan the next day was acclimatization day, the day we generally ascend with bicycles up to 5000m and then leave the bikes somewhere in the mountains and descend to the 3rd camp. On this trip the physical fitness of the group was very good and they decided to skip the acclimatization phase. They woke in the dusk and packed to ascend towards the peak. They were at the summit around noon and all of the group reached
