MT Damavand with bicycle The video is about an expedition mountain biking trip to ascent Damavand Mountain (5610m) which was performed in July of 2019. Mt Damavand is Iran’s highest peak and it’s the highest volcanic mountain of Asia. The mountain is in the southern coast of the Caspian Sea and is in the north west of Tehran province. The group was from Slovenia and the Adventure Iran’s team led this expedition trip. It was a one-week tour starting and finishing in Tehran. The journey started with a two days MTB tour in the Lar national park as a warm-up. Lar is a protected area located on the foothills of MT Damavand and it's in the south west of the mountain. They also slept one night inside the park in high altitudes which is perfect for acclimatization when you come around the sea level. After finishing the Lar trip they continued cycling towards the southern part of Mt Damavand and slept one night in the Mount Damavand shelter which is the first camp of Damavand and The next day transferred the bicycles to the 2nd camp. From there they loaded all of the camping equipment and other stuff to the mules and started mountain biking from the 2nd camp at an altitude of about 3100m toward the 3rd camp(4200m). In our original plan the next day was acclimatization day, the day we generally ascend with bicycles up to 5000m and then leave the bikes somewhere in the mountains and descend to the 3rd camp. On this trip the physical fitness of the group was very good and they decided to skip the acclimatization phase. They woke in the dusk and packed to ascend towards the peak. They were at the summit around noon and all of the group reached the

They arrived in the June of 2019 as it is in the middle of summer, it’s the best time to ascend the mountains. They even brought their own bikes to ascend Mt Damavand (5610m), Iran’s highest mountain. Beside MT. They started their trip from Adventure Iran’s office in Lavasan by bicycle and ascended one of the mountains around the city. There are various options for both moderate riders and advanced downhill bikers. There are also a number of districts for cycling in the northeast of Tehran. Iran is not a destination for beach holidays, instead, it is a perfect destination for those who would like to experience something quite unrivalled. In the past, nobody thought the Iranian Islands, perhaps unheard of by many people, would be popular for international travellers. This was due to the lack of proper marketing and insufficient information in the international press and media. Travellers who had already visited our islands managed to spread the news by word of mouth to friends about the untravelled and unspoiled routes in Iran creating quite an interest. These islands are special destinations during late autumn, winter and early spring. Nowadays the Persian Gulf Islands are far better known than previously, where most of the local houses and guest houses are full during the winter. It’s worth noting that a number of travellers visiting these islands are foreigners. We have numerous islands throughout the Persian Gulf. Three of these, Qeshm, Hormuz and Hengam are the most popular, are fairly close to each other, and located south of Bandar Abbas city. The main and the biggest one is Qeshm which resembles the shape of a dolphin. It’s famous for its mango forests, an amazing salt cave, a spectacular canyon and diving centres. There is also a Portuguese castle in the town. Hormuz Island is renowned for its glorious beaches. There are strikingly rugged rocks along the coastline which make this island so unique and distinctive. It’s also called Colourful Island, due to the various colours of soil. This exquisite island is ideal for those who enjoy countless types of adventure activities although trekking, boating and mountain biking are the most popular activities pursued. Hengam Island is another interesting and picturesque island famous for its dolphins, boating, and fishing. With a one week tour, it is possible to

Mountain Biking in Iran is a new activity for adventure travelers who come from all around the world. Iran is really an ideal mountain biking destination, but, unfortunately, it is not yet covered in the press and media. There are many Mountain Biking clubs, and over the past ten years, this challenge has appealed to a lot of women. Mountain Biking is not a popular activity as it is in some countries in Europe; there is not an exclusive cycling path in the streets of Iran. The mountains offer a lot of good trails and single-track roads which are proper for MTB freaks. There are a lot of dirt roads in our deserts between the villages and also single trails between oases which are perfect for this sport. We also have very decent roads with good quality asphalt in most parts of the country. As Iran is a mountainous country the roads are not flat so you will experience a lot of ascent and descent in most of them. We have created a wide range of mountain biking Iran tours from the Persian Gulf to the Caspian Sea. Iranian Coast to Coast by Bicycle tour is one of the good examples of our various mountain biking tours. If you check the CYCLING tour tab below the Iran Tours menus in the Adventure Iran website, you will find our Mountain Biking tours from January to December. In spring, we conduct most of our mountain biking tours in central Iran, where there are mountains and deserts. In summertime, we send our adventurous riders to the high peaks and sometimes to the Caspian Sea. Our mountain biking tours in autumn could take place in various regions. Autumn is a desert season. Dena National Park, with an approximate area of 250,000 hectares, is located in the middle of the Zagros mountain range covering the whole Dena mountain chain as explained in another article. Dena National Park is protected by the Iranian Department of the Environment. The central part of Dena National Park was registered in 2010 on the UNESCO list as a Biosphere Reserve site. A biosphere reserve is an ecosystem with unusual plants and animals with scientific and natural interests. It is a label given by UNESCO to help preserve this remarkable region. The core area of the park is around 35,000 hectares, a large expanse indeed. The Dena region possesses an extensive number of plants, various native mammals seriously at risk of extinction, and different types of natural resources. Almond and pistachio trees can be seen mostly in the low-lying areas, whereas oak trees stand on elevated regions. Walnut, hackberry, and pear trees are also spread all over this spectacular area. This district has long been a protected habitat for many animals such as brown bears, wild goats, eagles, wolves, various wild cats including Caracas, lynxes, and leopards. In addition, many vast rivers namely the Dez, Karun, and Karkheh originate from this region where they flow into the Persian Gulf and the Oman Sea. Picturesque falls, lakes, and pools make this mountainous area even more remarkably striking. In this geographical area, a significant number of individuals live a nomadic lifestyle. Smaller groups still maintain their medieval lifestyle. The multiculturalism of local residents, like nomadic communities, is totally evidenced by their languages, local cuisine, dress code, dance folklore, various festivals, herding, weaving, and other traditional production and crafts. Moreover, their understanding and way of living with regard to seasonal migration for their livestock are totally unlike other communities. Since Dena National
