New Requirements to Enter Iran (April 2022) As of April 7th, Iran entry requirements during Covid rules and regulations have been changed. For the last 2 months, no PCR test was required for entering Iran but as of now, the new Rules require a PCR test done within 72 hours before your flight for all individuals above the age of 12. A vaccination card is needed to enter the country as well. Please keep in mind that at least 15 days must have passed from your second dose. Iran entry requirements during Covid do not include proof of any booster shots. Sizdah Be-dar Day Sizdah Be-dar is the thirteenth day of Farvardin (the first month of the Iranian calendar) and is one of the New Year’s festivals. In Iran’s official calendar, this day is designated as Nature Day and is a holiday. Some people believe that Sizdah Be-dar day has an ominous feel about it, so they prefer to leave their houses that day to spend time outdoors in natural surroundings. However, there is no historical and credible narrative to prove that the ancient Iranians had this view. After twelve days of celebration, Ancient Iranians would, on the thirteenth day of Nowruz, considered an auspicious day, go outside to appreciate nature and rejoice. By celebrating this day, they ended the Nowruz period. Sizdah Be-dar Traditions People prepare everything for Sizdah Be-dar a day before. For Aush Reshteh, all beans and grains get cooked the night before. In some parts of Iran, people believe that food must be cooked with wild herbs on this day. For example, one of the Sizdar Be-dar rituals in Khorasan province is cooking a kind of Aush with wild native herbs. Samanu or halva should also have been on the table on Sizdah Be-dar. Kabab is the other popular food that can be seen on almost every occasion and Sizdah Be-dar is no exception. Before lunch, we eat lettuce with Sekanjabin, (the oldest Iranian drink which is made of honey and vinegar). Usually, nuts are eaten in the afternoon. It starts on the 20th of March (1st of Farvardin) and continues for about 2 weeks till the first of April (13th of Farvardin) which is the day Called Sizdah Bedar. Nowruz is the start of spring. It is the month that the earth wakes up from its hibernation and breathes. It is the time of flowers blooming and pleasant winds of spring blowing. Although traveling in Nowruz could be tempting for most travelers, it might not be the best time to travel to Iran. What Iranians do during Nowruz Many Iranians plan for these two weeks in advance. Chaharshanbe Suri, an Iranian event taking place on the last Tuesday of the year, was just a few days ago, we had many fires to jump from with many fireworks to spare. The streets are full of sound on this night and everybody is celebrating this ancient occasion. During this holiday many Iranians take a long vacation to their nearby cities, so traveling at this time can be a curse and a blessing. Many people plan for this week-long (for some people 2 weeks long) vacation in advance. They usually go visit their relatives in other cities or plan a sightseeing trip for themselves. People have started their journeys and the trains and busses are mostly full. Haft-sin tables are set and everybody is counting down the hours to the New Year. because of the calculations of when the Sun crosses the celestial equator and equalizes night and day, the time of the new year is different every year. This year it is at night around 7 P.M local time. This is a time for families to gather around and spend time with each other, a time for friends to reconcile and a time to put the winter behind us and start a New Year with many blossoms on trees.

This impressive festival is one of the most popular celebrations among Iranians. Chaharshanbeh Suri goes back 1700 years BC and is held on the last Wednesday before Nowrouz, (New Year). To be more precise, this festival feasts on the evening of the last Tuesday of the year and is a mixture of great and little traditions. Chaharshanbeh Suri is also the fire dance to welcome spring. "Chaharshanbeh Souri" gets made from two words. ،The first is a day of the week, (Chaharshanbe is Wednesday), and the other, (Suri), means redness. Fire has been respected not only in ancient Iran but also among Indians, Europeans, and other cultures. The ancient Iranians believed in the power of purification by fire. In the light of recent events, Iran has taken measures in changing the previous requirements. The new Iran Entry requirements do not include the PCR test and you can enter the country with your vaccination card. All individuals above the age of 12 require a vaccination card as proof for the first double doses. A minimum of 2 weeks must have passed from the last given dose. There are no requirements for booster shots in place. in the old instructions, a PCR test done within a 72-hour time limit before flight for individuals above the age of 12 and a vaccination card with 2 weeks passed from the second dose was needed. Like many other countries, Iran has crossed out the mandatory PCR test, and entering the country is made easier by only the vaccination card. please keep in mind that the borders are open for all countries except 8 African countries: ZIMBABWE, MOZAMBIQUE, NAMIBIA, MALAWI, SOUTH AFRICA, SWATINI, LESOTHO AND BOTSWANA. Most of the population fully vaccinated, The Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education set these new Iran Entry requirements. Lar national park is a protected region so it is not open to the public. About Lar National Park It’s managed by the Iranian Environmental Organization.
