Zagros is one of the longest mountain ranges in Asia (sixth) after the Himalaya, Kunlun Mountains, Tian Shan Mountains, Altay Mountains, Ural Mountains and twonthest.
Zagros forms the largest mountain range in Iran and Iraq, spreading across the whole length of the western and southwestern Iranian plateau, beginning in northwestern Iran and ending at Strait of Hormuz. Zagros range is about 932 miles (1,500 km) long and more than 150 miles (240 km) wide. The mountains are separated into many sub-ranges and organically have the same age as the age as The Alps. Zagros is also home to rich and complex flora widely oak-dominated.
Zard Kuh or Zard Kouh is the name of a sub ranges of Zagros Mountains range which is in the center of Zagros and is one the most great and famous mountains in Zagros. In Persian Zard Kuh mean “The yellow mountain”.
The mountain range is located in Chaharmahal-e-Bakhtiary province, near the two famous cities of Shahr-e-kord and Koohrang which is one of the most beautiful places of Iran. Also Karoon and Zayandeh-roud rivers are two most major rivers of Iran coming from Zard Kuh mountains.
There a lot of mountains over 4000 m in this mountain range like : Haft Tanan 4019m, Shah-e-Shahidan 4180m, Ab-Sefid 4050m, Koloonchin (Do-Zardeh) 4221m, Khersan 4050m, Zard Kuh 4521
This trip consists of two parts; skiing and ski-mountaineering in Mt Damavand 5610 m. You will enjoy skiing on deep powders during the late winter and early spring months when snow is quite stable however there is a little chance of avalanche. This program is ideal for people who have previous experience in Randonee or Telemark skiing. As this tour is quite vigorous engaged both uphill and downhill skiing so we expect our clients to be quite fit and capable of handling various snow conditions. Also climbing Iran’s highest peaks and skiing down to double the fun is part of the program.
