Iran is a mountainous country offering fantastic ski pistes as skiing is a popular winter sport in Iran. One of these pistes is called Dizin which is located in the Central Alborz Mountains in north of Tehran. There are two other fantastic pistes Darband Sar and Shemshak. Its only 60 km length from Tehran down town to Shemshak” center of these three pistes” and driving time is about 2 hours through mountain road in high altitude. The resort has a reputation for powdery snow, high altitude (one of the world’s 40 highest ski centres) and north facing slopes. Average snow depth is 1.5 meter (5 feet) at the base but doubles on the upper slopes.

Dizin’s climatological condition offers the longest period for skiing normally beginning from Mid-December to end of March. From the capital city, less than two hour drive will get you to the village of Shemshak that we have chosen for your accommodation for this tour. In this village you access to the three main ski resorts of Iran and depending on your interest and your ski level you can choose each one of them for skiing during your trip. The altitude of the village is around 2700 m and these are on the top of the village and you have to walk to reach the house. It’s a local house and Adventure Iran renovated it with good facilities as an accommodation and you will enjoy during of your trip in the heart of Alborz Mountain. The house has a big room with bunk bed for two couples and we have bunch of traditional mattress for sleeping on the floor. It is a very cosy house for a family or a small group up to 6-8 people. The house has kitchen with coffee maker, microwave, Tea maker and stoves as well as eating utensils. There is a bathroom with hot shower and seat type toilet and a small bookshelf with different photo books about Iran.

The planned itinerary is travel from Tehran towards Shemshak village in the heart of Alborz Mountain and back to the capital again. It’s a 3 day self-guided ski package tour with three nights staying in a renovated house on top of Shemshak village. We will pick you up from your hotel in Tehran and send you to the ski resort. The driver is available for 3 days and you will have two transfers per day from the house to the ski resort in the morning and from the ski resort to the house. The house has good facilities for cooking, bathroom and sleeping.
Also the tour will come with breakfast which is prepared in your refrigerator and tea and coffee is available as much as you want in the house.
As there are three different ski resorts around the village, you can make the decision to choose which one of them you would like to ski on and we arrange to make a plan to transfer you according to your program.
This tour can be performed in the winter and the beginning of spring. The ski season for Dizin resort generally starts around mid-December and finishes in the end of March however the season for skiing in Shemshak and Darband Sar resorts is shorter depending on the volume of snow for the current year.
