A memorable journey through central Iran. This tour is a combination of sightseeing in main spots in large cities and visiting/trekking in the oases of Iran central desert. The planned itinerary will start and end in Tehran IKIA airport but if you prefer you can finish in Yazd historic city. You will visit main touristic cities of Tehran, Yazd and Esfahan along with some ancient towns and villages such as Qehi, Na’in, Anarak, Garmeh, Mesr, Farahzad and Kharanagh. In this program you will enjoy two days of desert adventures through Iran central desert between Esfahan to Yazd.
The total route travelled on the ground in 9 days will add up to 1500 Km but the distance would be divided in such a way not to be boring.
The designed itinerary will enable you to visit most possible attractions in 9 days. The difficulty range of the trip is moderate and all of people with general fitness can join the tour.
You will stay two nights in a hotel in Tehran which will give you short time to explore the main spots of the capital. Then you will be transferred to an amazing renovated caravanserai in east Esfahan where the real journey will begin following a day of sightseeing in Esfahan. In this program you will visit Farahzad, Mesr, Aroosan and Garmeh oases and historic towns of Na’in and Anarak. An astonishing two and half days of trekking in the desert towards the camping site is also included. If you are an early bird and wake up on time in the morning you will have the chance to trek to an amazing viewpoint to watch the life giving sun rising. After the desert trip and continue the journey to Yazd historical city and visiting the most popular site. In Yazd you will have a city tour for the whole day. This tour will finish with a day of Yazd city tour. From there you can continue your journey with our 2 days extension Shiraz and Persepolis tour.

Day 1: Arrival to Tehran

Travelers arrive with different airlines and check-in to a hotel in Tehran. The first day will be free. Depending on your time of arrival, you’ll likely have free time to relax, get adjusted and explore in the capital. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2: Tehran city tour

After breakfast we will have Tehran sightseeing and city tour. We spend all day visiting the capital attractions. Before noon we will visit the National Museum of Iran and Golestan Palace. In the afternoon we will go to Artists Park “Park-e Honar Mandan” for a vegetarian meal. You will be able to spend some time walking around the park after lunch visiting its attractions depending on your interest. We will spend a couple of hours there. Most of the times there is painting and photography Show/exhibition inside the park as well as a theatre and cinema hall. Also, there are a few good coffee shops for refreshment. In the late afternoon we will back to the hotel. Overnight in Tehran. (B)

Day 3: Tehran – Kashan – Esfahan

You will be driven to Esfahan south towards Esfahan into Iran’s mountainous and desert interior. You will visit an ancient underground city and its castle. On the way we will visit an Underground City and its castle. We will also visit the significant ancient site dating back to 3000 – 4000 BC and the historic Royal Gardens. In the late afternoon we will arrive in Esfahan and check in to the caravanserai outside of Esfahan city. Overnight stay in renovated caravanserai. (B)

Day 4: Esfahan exploring – under UNESCO’s world heritage list

In this day we will be visiting some of the highlights of Isfahan which are under the UNESCO’s world heritage list. There are many shops selling Esfahan’s beautiful handicrafts so it would be a great opportunity for those who wish to buy some of them. We will have lunch in a traditional restaurant and then will continue towards south of the city to visit Chehel Sotun (Forty Pillar) and Hasht Behest (Eight Heaven) building. Later we will go to visit Zayandeh Roud (Zayandeh River) where we will also visit two of Iran’s historic bridges Siose Pol (33 Bridge) and Pole Khajoo (Khajoo Bridge). Zayandeh Roud is an ideal place to take some photos in the river’s sunset along with the two bridges. Overnight stay at caravanserai. (B)

Day 5: Drive towards desert –Start trekking to oasis- Camping

On this day, we will be driving around 300 km’s for our first trekking event. From there you will be passing through towns and seeing their highlights. We will continue the road towards the desert and we will start the trekking immediately after arriving. We have 25-30 km walking on this day which is designed to totally disconnected you from the towns and the villages. We will continue walking until late afternoon. We will set up our camp in the desert and watch the sunset. Total distance covered: 50 Km

Day 6: Desert safari & the Salt Lake

Early morning rise up. After breakfast we will start trekking. On the trekking route we will stop every now and then to rest and take photographs from spectacular and amazing sand dunes. We will continue walking until late afternoon. After finding a suitable point for our camp in the desert and some rest we leave for watching the sunset. We will have dinner at our camp enjoying the beauty of the desert sky. Overnight stay in tent. (B, L, D).

Day 7: Drive to Yazd through the spots

We will wake up at the crack of dawn (optional) walking for a while to watch the sunrise view of the desert and will walk back to our camp for breakfast. Next, the camp will be collected and trekking will continue toward the sand dunes. Then we will return to the oasis where our vehicle will pick us up to Yazd. We will have lunch at the guest house before driving to Yazd. Depending upon the season there are a couple of attractions on the way and you may have a chance of short visiting of one or two of them. We will be there in the evening. (B, L)

Day 8: Yazd city tour

After breakfast you will have a full day sightseeing tour in Yazd visiting most touristic attractions such as important Zoroastrian sites of Dakhmeh (Old cemetery & tower of silence), the Fire temple, Amir Chakhmagh complex and the main Grand Mosque next to bazaar. Next comes Rokn-o- din Shrine and the old prison named after Alexander Prison. We stay one more night in the traditional hotel in Yazd. (B)

Day 9: Departure- Transfer to Tehran

Arrival in Tehran, transfer to the IKA airport and fly back home. You will have breakfast in the hotel. This is last day of the tour and will be finished in Yazd. You can continue your journey to the next destination.
