Kandelus is the name of a historical village in Mazandaran region. Mazandaran is a name of the Caspian Sea province in the north of Iran. The province located on the southern coast of the Caspian Sea and northern slopes of Central Alborz mountains. Mazandaran is one of the most densely populated provinces in Iran and has diverse natural resources. Kandelous is a beautiful and blessed village at the heart of thick forests and on the foothill of the Alborz Mountain Range. This village is in a mountainous region, in one of the scenic valleys of the Alborz Mountain Range. It is situated at an altitude of 1,650 meters above sea-level. The residents of this village speak in Mazandarani dialect. The village has a dense residential fibre and is located on the mild slope of the foothill.

It would be a good idea to escape from the touristic areas you will face in the guide books and travel to Non- touristic area through OFF THE BEATAN PATH. This package tour will send you to a historical village of Kandelus with activity of hiking and the taste of local contact, foods, culture in remote area. There is no special season to travel to this destination and you can travel for the entire years. In each season you will face with the different attraction, colors, weather situation and attractions. The best time for travel is Spring to the end of autumn and you will have good hiking and nice accommodation in the local house.
For this tour we will start from Tehran in the afternoon when you will check out from your hotel and drive to the Caspian Sea which is taking 4-5 hours. The tour will end in the Capital on day 3 at the evening. Since we have a verity of active tour which is start in Tehran and continue to the Caspian Sea, it would be a fantastic idea to make it as an extension tour as well on the end day of your trip. The first day is just arrival and having some rest. You will relax in the mountain wooden house and have short walking around the village. In this village you will experience fresh weather and calmness forgetting the pollution and the noise in most of touristic destination. The altitude of the village is around 1700 m from sea level and is covered by mountains of Central Alborz.
For the second day, there is hiking activity and we will hike up to 2600 m which 800m is ascending to the spring water. The untouched landscape, river, sounds and colors of nature in a non-touristic area make this trekking route a special one.
The third day is a exploring the village and also visiting another village nearby Kandelus. After lunch we will drive to the Capitol and en route we have short stops by the attraction from Haraz road.

Day 1: Tehran to Kandelus village

In the afternoon we will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to the Bus terminal called west Terminal (Terminal Gharb). You will travel by a VIP bus to the north of Iran (the Caspian Sea). It takes 4 hours to reach the city of Chalus. From there our driver will pick you up and we will drive to Kandelus village which takes 1 hour (70 km). When you arrive you will relax and adjustment and after some infusion we have a short walk in the village. We have traditional dinner provided by locals and overnight you will stay in the local house. (D)

Day 2- Kandelus – hiking to the spring water

After early breakfast, we will be prepared to hike towards the spring water. The length of hiking is 13 km which takes 6 hours. We will start from 1650 m from the sea level and will up to Espio 2325 m (spring water). We will have picnic lunch which carry in our day pack and we have lunch on Espio. We have an amazing view of many villages around the mountain. We will back to Kandelous by the late afternoon. We will stay in the private house of local and we have a traditional dinner. (B, L, D)

Day 3: villages exploring- drive to Tehran

Today is a tight day and we must visit many places according to the plan. After breakfast first we will visit village of Kandelous by walk. There is a special historical museum and also the architecture of the village is wonderful. We will have walking to another neighboring village to have a good exploring of the area. Back to the local house for lunch and from there we will drive from the village to Tehran through an amazing road inside the forest. On the way we will pass many villages and we will have different colors of the Alborz mountain. After short stop for photography, continue driving through Haraz road towards Terhran. We will arrive Tehran in the evening. (B, L)
