This package is suitable for anyone has limited time for biking and wishing to have a special experience of biking in the central desert of Iran in Non-touristic area. It’s a tailored package designed to disconnect you from normal life and take you to the heart of the desert. This tour is a combination of different types of landscapes in Dasht-e Kavir. An English speaking guide would be with the group during biking and the bikes are included in this package and will be prepared with Adventure Iran. The journey will start from Esfahan by driving to the heart of the desert and you will have 3 days biking there and finally you will finish the tour in Yazd by driving with visiting the interesting places on the way. There is no support vehicle during biking for this trip but we have access to the local vehicle for any special case.
The biking route is part of the old and famous “Silk Road”. We have carefully chosen a part of this route that offers different eco-systems and changes in the landscape which simply are quite astonishing. We will come across mountain slopes and flowing dried rivers as well as the magical desert with its different colors and formations that together will make this journey enjoyable, but most remarkably an adventure that will stay in the memory and grow as a wonderful experience along one’s life. On this trip the approximate length of biking would be 170 km. The main part of the route is dirt road and sometimes for having the best views and visibility we will go on the sand dunes in the desert. Also, we will cross a few villages and oases on the way. You will stay in the traditional guest house in the oasis with warm hospitality of the locals. Depending on the season we might see semi wild camels, rabbits, foxes and if lucky enough some beautiful scorpions!!!!!!
In this tour you will walk more or less on the same route that Sven Anders Hedin, (19 February 1865 – 26 November 1952), the Swedish geographer, topographer, explorer, photographer and travel writer travelled by paddle steamer in 1886. He travelled to Persia twice in 1886 and 1890. In 1887, Hedin published a book about these travels entitled Through Persia, Mesopotamia and the Caucasus.
