1.  Do I need a visa to travel to Iran? All foreign visitors require a valid visa to enter Iran except for citizens of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Bolivia, Slovenia, Malaysia and Turkey. This list is subject to change, please make sure your passport is valid for a minimum of six months.
  2. Can I get entry visa to Iran?  Holders of normal passports traveling as a tourist can obtain a visa on arrival (under certain conditions) for a maximum stay of 30 days at most airports except for citizens of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Canada, Colombia, India, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Somalia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, United Kingdom, United States, and Uzbekistan. These nationalities are required to apply at an Iranian embassy/consulate for the Iranian visa prior to their arrival to Iran
  3. can I travel to Iran if I have Israeli stamp in my Passport? Your application will be rejected if you have a travel visa from Israel. This rule also applies if the passport holder has an entry or exit stamp from Egyptian/Israeli, Jordanian/ Israeli border.
  4. Are there any specific requirements for ABC (US, UK and Canadian) citizens travelling to Iran? Visas for those travellers are subject to particular regulations. Presently the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) does not allow these nationals to travel to Iran independently.  They are required to travel along with a licensed tour guide provided by registered travel company from the moment of arrival to departure. A fixed itinerary, a copy of the first page of passport plus detailed information of all travellers including thier CVs & social media Ids must be submitted via the travel agency in advance and the tourism board will check the itinerary and details of travelers. After confirmation of tourism board, the agency will apply for the visa in Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). The finalized itinerary is not subject to change. Due to the requirements we advise the travellers to make the necessary arrangements minimum two months in advance prior to their travel date.
  5. Which Iranian airports grant Visa upon arrival? Presently you can get visa on arrival at the following airports: Tehran (Imam Khomaini), Bushehr, Shiraz, Isfahan( Shahid Beheshti), Mashhad, Gheshm, Kerman Shah, Kish and Tabriz.
  6. Can I extend my visa in Iran? You can extend your visa two times. The duration for each visa extension is for 30 days.
  7. Can Adventure Iran Apply for visa? We are a registered travel agency with more than a decade of experience in providing services. We can apply for visa authorazation number for those interested to book a tour with us. We can apply visa for agencies and groups. After approval, we will forward the Visa reference number to the customer. Please note that we are unable to apply for this code (visa reference number) if you don’t book all duration of your trip with us.Lately the rules for applying visa have changed to make them easier. You can simply, by yourself, at the airports mentioned above get a 30 day visa upon arrival.
  8. What should I do if I’ve previously submitted an application via the Iranian e-visa portal or another agency?If you have already submitted an application through the official Iranian e-visa portal or via another travel agency, please note that you cannot proceed with a new application through Adventure Iran until the previous one has been officially canceled or rejected. We kindly ask that you wait for the rejection notice or confirmation of cancellation before submitting a new request with us.
  9. What Is an Iran Visa Authorization Code (Visa Approval)?

    Once your Iran visa application has been submitted and approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), you will receive a PDF document known as the Visa Authorization Code or Visa Grant Notice. This official document confirms that your visa has been approved and that you are now eligible to collect it.

    You will need to present this document at one of the following locations:

    • An Iranian embassy or consulate (if you selected embassy pickup), or

    • The Visa on Arrival (VOA) counter at any international airport in Iran (if you selected airport pickup).

    Your physical visa will then be issued to you without any stamp being placed in your passport.

  10. Is Travel Insurance Required for Iran?

    Yes. All foreign travelers must have valid travel insurance that specifically covers Iran. You will be required to present proof of insurance upon arrival at the border or airport.

    If you are picking up your visa at an Iranian embassy or consulate, you will be required to purchase the mandatory insurance at the time of collection.

  11. Can I Travel to Iran as a Solo Woman in 2026? Is It Safe?

    Yes, solo female travel to Iran is possible in 2026, but it will not be an independent trip. Under current regulations, all tourists are required to book through a registered travel agency, which will arrange a guide and secure your accommodations.

    Many solo female travelers who have visited under these conditions report feeling safe and describe their experience as truly incredible.

  12. Do I Pay for the Visa or the Issuing Stamp?

    Your visa fee is determined by your nationality and the pickup location (airport or embassy). The fee is paid directly to the Iranian government.

  13. Can I Enter Iran and Get a Visa on Arrival?

    Visa on Arrival (VOA) is no longer issued easily at Iranian airports as of 2021. In most cases, travelers without a valid visa approval may be denied entry and deported.

    To ensure a safe and smooth experience, travel must now be arranged through a registered travel agency with a pre‑approved itinerary. Adventure Iran handles your visa approval in advance, so you can enjoy a hassle‑free collection at your chosen pickup location.

  14. Can I Get a Multi-Entry Iran Visa?

    No. Iran does not currently offer multiple-entry tourist visas. All tourist visas are issued for single entry only, meaning your visa becomes invalid as soon as you leave the country. To re-enter Iran, you will need to submit a fresh application for a new tourist visa.

    The only visa types that allow multiple entries are business visas and student visas.

  15. How Do I Collect My Visa If My Country Has No Iran Embassy?

    You have two options:

    Airport Pick‑Up – Select an Iranian airport as your collection point during the application process. Your visa will be issued upon arrival.
    (Please check with us first — this option is not available for all nationalities.)

    Third‑Country Pick‑Up – Collect your visa from an Iranian embassy or consulate in a nearby country while transiting.

  16. I live far away from the Iranian Embassy. Can I collect my visa upon arrival at the airport?You can send your documents to Adventure Iran and in the visa application form there is a box for the location that you would like to collect your visa. You should mention that you would like to collect your visa from the following airports:

IKA: Tehran Imam Khomaini Airport 

MHD: Mashhad Airport

SYZ: Shiraz Airport

TBZ: Tabriz Airport

ISF: Isfahan Airport

BUZ: Bushehr Airport

17.What are the necessary documents in order to apply for a visa reference number with Adventure Iran?Fill out the booking /application form. Please make sure your information matches with the contents of your passport.
A copy of the first page of your passport. Kindly scan the passport page and make sure the size of the scan does not exceed 500kb. The passport photo should be clearly visible.
A passport sized photo in JPEG format.
For ABC (American, British and Canadian) countries we need CV and social media Id of all travellers.

 

18.How long will it take to get an Iranian visa? The visa process for ABC (US, UK and Canadian) passport holders will take about one month. For other nationalities the process will take about 7-10 working days. Please note during Nowrooz (Iranian New Year) the MFA will be closed from 17-25 March.

19. After I collect my visa how long it is valid for? Visas are valid for a maximum period of three months from the time of its issue.

20. What type of documents will I need for collecting my visa in embassy, consulate or airport? Once we send you the authorization code, you need following documents to get your visa.

  1. Visa application form
  2. Your passport
  3. Visa fee
  4. Visa insurance fee
  5. Photos
  6. Copy of your travel insurance.
  7. Some consulates may have different requirements, please check beforehand!

The return time of your visa (stamped in your passport) to your home address is usually within a week but can take longer. Visiting the embassy personally might speed up the process. Some Iranian embassies and consulates may only be open for 3 or 4 days a week and might have limited opening hours. We recommend the flight dates not to be fixed and be refundable in case of possible delays.

21.How is the cost of visa reference number with Adventure Iran? There is no extra charge for visa invitation. This is a part of our service when you book a tour

22.Do I pay for visa issuing/Stamp? Yes, Iranian embassy/cunsulate/ airport immigration will charge you a fee for issuing your visa. This is completely separate with any amount paid for your tour.
