In Iran there are different nomads’ tribes whom they live in the nature of Iran in Alborz and Zargros mountain range. One of the famous ones is Bakhtiari nomads which they are majorities of Iran nomads and on this adventure Iran trip, we are going to cross through their tents and settlements. Also there are other nomad tribes called Qashqaee, Boier Ahmadi, Shah Savan nomads which who lives in different regions. Bakhtiari’s  ethnic groups are living in central and southern part of the Zagros mountains. They will move from lower altitudes to a high mountain from early spring till mid - autumn with their family and sheep. Bakhtiari’s  nomads belong to Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiari province, which they are mainly in Zard Kuh mountain chains doing their seasonal movement KOOCH. This tribe has different customs, dialectic and cloths with other tribes. Bakhtiari’s  nomads are mainly in the west of Esfahan province where is Zard Kuh mountain.
The region:
This trip will go a special province which is not mentioned in any guidebook and its one of the authentic region in the whole country. The name of the province is Chaha Mahal va Bakhtiari. It is located between the triangle of three provinces of Esfahan, Khozestan and Lorestan.
The journey is a week adventure trip in very remote area that even local hikers did not pass this route. The trek is for local tribes they use this route for their seasonal moment. The main region of this trek is nomadic setelment of local tribes who live in the mountain and they live very basic with limited facilities. In Iran we have verities of different nomadic tribes, but Bakhtiari tribes in the most famous one and also is the first tribe in terms of population.
The Bakhtiari tribe is one of the biggest nomadic tribes of Iran, and the other large group being the Qashqaie tribe. Bakhtiari nomads are Twelver Shiʿites and speak a Lori dialect. The nomads and some sedentary people live in the tribal territory, called the “Bakhtiari country” stretching from the Dez river, Sustar, Ram and the outskirts of Shahrekord which is the capital of the province of Chahar Mahal va Bakhtiari.
Bakhtiari nomads:
The traditional Bakhtiari way of life is typical of the long-distance nomadism which evolved in the heights of the mountain range of Zagros which is the middle of this mountain range in the west of Iran.
The Bakhtiari nomads move between a summer abode (YEYLAQ) in the high mountains of  Zardakuh mountain chains with a lot of peaks over 4000m and a winter abode (Qeshlaq) in the western foothills adjoining the Khozestan plain. These ecological boundary between the two zones coincides roughly with the course of the Abe-Bazooft. Thus the Bakhtiari country falls into two different administrative provinces: Chahar Mahal va Bakhtiari Province, where the summer quarters lie, and Khuzestan province, in which the winter quarters are included. The seasonal migrations (called bar) made by different sections of the tribe vary in length and can reach 300 km. Migration into the mountains takes place in springtime when the weather and the vegetation are at their best; it lasts longer (15 to 45 days) than the reverse migration (8 to 30 days). The migration routes are seldom, if ever, changed, because in this region there are only five or at best seven cols over which the Zagros ranges can be crossed; they lead to campsites (JAVARGAH) which are likewise almost always the same, being fixed by longstanding conventions. As is well known, these routes are extremely arduous. The nomads suffer frequent accidents and losses of livestock when they clamber over snow-covered cols and through rock-encumbered gorges and when they either swim or float on rafts held up with inflated goatskins across the Karoon river and other raging rivers at the time of the snow-melt. Despite all these difficulties, seasonal migration is necessary because of the prevalence of cold and snow in the Yeylaq (Sardsir season) from October to April and heat and drought in the Qeshlaq (Garmsir season) from May to September, and often also the exhaustion of the pastures after several months of intensive use. Other possible ways to solve the problem have been suggested, for example to combine sheep folding with fodder crop cultivation and short-range transhumance; but for the time being, in the absence of any satisfactory alternative, nomadism remains the only feasible technique for efficient pursuit of livestock raising in this region.
