This adventure Iran tour will perform in north east of Tehran in Shemshak village above 2500 m height. One of the main highlight of this tour is the area which is As Adventure Iran office is based in Lavasan (northern Tehran countryside) in central Alborz mountains, we have designed a few trekking activities with different difficulty levels around this region. This trip has been designed to be challenging and is perfect for people who have limited time in Tehran or those who want to have an acclimatization program before high mountains such as Damavand, Alam Kuh or Sabalan. It is also a challenging tour perfect for escaping the crowded and polluted Tehran to a quiet village.
The highlights of this tour are: meeting local people in the village, Persian food, staying in a renovated local house and beautiful trekking route to the summit.
In the afternoon of the first day we will transfer you from Tehran to Shemshak village to stay overnight. This will acclimatize you for a better ascend tomorrow. Early morning next day we will start from the village toward the peak

Day 1: Tehran to Shemshak

You will pick up from your hotel in Tehran at 5.00 p.m. Driving towards Shemshak village which is around 60 km through mountain road taking 1 hour and a half. The altitude of Tehran downtown is around 1200 m from the sea level and the village, altitude is 2700m, so we will drive up around 1500m. This attitude will be good for your acclimatization one night before your summit day and your body and brain will adjust for mountaineering program. After arriving in the village we have to walk up to the highest point of the village with 110 steps as the is no road goes to the house. The house is he a good view to shemshak ski resort and Sarakchal mountain as well. After arrival to the house we will have some time to enjoy the environment of the village and take a photo before dawn. Dinner will be served there and tea/coffee is available at any time. Overnight stay in the local renovated house. (D)

Day 2: Summit day - Ascending Mt. Sarak Chal (4210 m) – Drive back to Tehran

Early morning 6.00 a.m. We will rise up and after coffee and breakfast we will take our day pack to start our today’s hike at 7 am. The route will start from the house in the village of Shemshak. The altitude of the start is 2700 m and the peak height is 4210 m. Our total ascent will be 1510 m taking 10 hours to go and back. We will climb through the southern face of the mountain and during our hike towards the peak we will have a great view of Shemshak and Darband sar and other villages in the region as well as two ski resorts of Shemshak and Darband sar. The first 500 m of our hike is steeve slope. Also, alongside of our trek there is a big rock with 300 m height and we will cross through behind of the wall which is a good point of rest and photography. Many of rock climber come to this place for climbing during spring and summer. After a couple of hours we will reach a shelter called Lagani which is at 3550 am and we have a short stop for rest. Afterwards we will take the mountain ridge to the peak. In the spring the ground will cover with a lot of local herb and local people will come to collect these goods for their local dishes. We have a couple of spring water in our trek and we can refill our bottles. Around noon we will be at the peak of SaraK chal 1 (4210 m) and we have a great view of a lot of mountains in central Alborz over 4000m. Touchal, Kolon Bastak, Sichal, Borj, kholeno and Azadkooh are the famous ones. After 1 hour in the top and having packed lunch we will back to the village takes a couple of hours. After reaching the village, we have a one hour time for taking a shower and rest and after having afternoon coffee will transfer you to Your hotel in the capital.
