MT. Alam Kuh

Alam kuh is the name of a massive mountain located in Northern Iran in Mazandaran province. It’s located in Takht-e Soleyman massif mountain chain. Also Takhte Soliman is a part of West Alborz mountains range. The altitude of Alam Kuh is 4850 m from the Sea Level and is the second highest mountain in Iran after Damavand Mountain (5610 m). Alam kuh is the center of many Mountain Activities for nature lovers.

The north face of Mt Alam Kuh is a massive vertical wall that made Alam kuh very famous mountain for all climbers around the world. The length of the wall rises up about 480 m vertical granite rock up to the summit. One the main highlight is the base of the wall starts from 4400 m from the Sea level and its make the rock different for climbing. There are a lot of different route on this wall which began from 1936 till now.

The south face of Alam kuh is the only route that most of hikers choose this one during the summer for hiking up to the summit.

You will enjoy trekking in the region of Iran second highest mountain with great mountainous landscapes during best season of climbing Iran Mountains according to very stable weather. You can focus completely on enjoying a successful climb. This program is ideal for people who want to enjoy a great climb which is doable for amateur mountaineers also. We will drive from Tehran to Kelardasht which is a small in northern Iran in the Caspian Sea region. From there drive to the starting point of trekking via a dirt road. After 3 days hiking in Mount Alam Kuh, we will drive to the Caspian Sea and then back to Tehran.

Day 1: Tehran Arrival

On arrival, Check in to a hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2: Drive to RudBarak-VandarBon - hike up to the base camp

Drive to Kelardash and Roudbarak. Ascending to Hesarchal Camp. Overnight stay at camp. (B, L, D)

Day 3: Mt. Lashgarak (4250 m)

Climb Lashgarak summit, Overnight stay at camp. (B, L, D)

Day 4: Mt. Alam Kuh (4850 m)

Alam Kuh mountain and back to the camp, drive to the coast of Caspian Sea. Overnight stay at hotel.(B, L)

Day 5: Caspian Sea – Polor (Base camp)

Caspian Sea and drive to Larigan hot spring spa, drive to Polor mountain refuge- Damavand base camp (B, D)

Day 6: Drive to the 2nd camp & climbing to 3rd camp

The jeep will take drive to the Damavand second camp (3000m). Hiking to the third camp (Bargah Sevom) at 4250m. (Total ascends 1250m). Overnight camp. (B, L, D)

Day 7: Acclimatization Day

hiking to a frozen waterfall which is at about 5000 meters and return. This will take about 6 to 7 hours and will be very suitable for our acclimatization before summit day. Overnight stay at camp. (B, L, D)

Day 8: Ascend to summit (5610m)

Challenging climb to the peak usually takes about 6 to 7 hours. From the summit, we then begin descending to 3rd camp, a journey of some 7 hours that should bring us back to the camp in time for dinner. Total haking time is approximately 12-14 hours. Total scend/descend 2700m. Overnight stay at camp. (B, L, D)

Day 9: Descend the mountain, back to Tehran

Descending to second camp. Drive to Larijan natural hot spring bath to leave the tiredness in the hot mineral water then will be driven to the hotel in Tehran. Overnight sleep at hotel (B, L)
