A memorable journey through central Iran from Tehran, the capital towards Shiraz, the Persian Empire capital. This tour is a combination of sightseeing in large cities and visiting/desert walking in the oases of Iran central desert and nomadic area of Zagros Mountain. The planned itinerary will start and end in Tehran but can finish in Shiraz on your request. You will visit main touristic cities of Tehran, Kashan, Yazd, Esfahan and Shiraz along with some ancient towns and villages such as Na’in, Meybod and Chakchak. Also in this program you will enjoy 1 day exploring desert between Esfahan and Yazd as well as two days hiking in Zagros Mountain in non-touristic area between Yazd and Shiraz.
The total route travelled on the ground in 14 days will add up to 3000 Km but the distance would be divided in a way not to be boring.
The designed itinerary will enable you to visit most possible attractions of Iran in 14 days. The difficulty range of the trip is Easy to moderate which means anyone with a general level of physical fitness can join the tour.
You will stay two nights in a hotel in Tehran giving you some time to explore the main spots of the capital. Then you will be transferred to an amazing renovated caravanserai in east Esfahan where the real journey will begin following a day of sightseeing in Esfahan. In this program you will visit Kuhpayeh, Varzaneh oases and historic towns of Na’in, Meybod and Chakcak. An astonishing 1 day exploring in the desert. Afterward, our journey will continue to Yazd historic city visiting its popular sites. In Yazd you will have a city tour for the whole day. The next destination is Zagros Mountain where we have one day walking along a river and one hiking in the mountain. Afterward we will drive to Shiraz and en route we will visit a cave and also nomadic area before reaching Shiraz. In Shiraz, we will have one day excursion tour outside of the city to visit ancient Persepolis and the tomb of Cyrus the Great and one day city tour to visit its numerous attractions. The following day, we will fly back to Tehran and you will be transferred from domestic airport to IKA airport to catch your flight back home.

Day 1: Arrival to Tehran

Depending on your arrival time, you’ll likely have free time to relax, get adjusted and explore the capital. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2: Tehran city tour

After breakfast, we will have Tehran sightseeing and city tour. We spend all the day visiting the capital attractions. Before noon, we will visit the National Museum of Iran and Golestan Palace. In the afternoon we will go to Artists Park (Park-e Honar Mandan) for a vegetarian meal. You will be able to spend some time walking around the park after lunch visiting its attractions depending on your interest. We will spend a couple of hours there. In the evening we will return to the hotel. Overnight in Tehran. (B)

Day 3: Tehran – Kashan – Esfahan

Today we drive south towards Esfahan into Iran’s mountainous and desert region. On the way, we will visit Noosh Abad ancient underground city and its castle. We will also visit the significant ancient site of Sialk dating back to 3000 – 4000 BC and the historic royal gardens of Fin where was built for Shah Abbas. We will arrive Esfahan late afternoon and check in the hotel. After refreshing, we will go for a short walk and dinner in the old part of the town. Overnight stay in hotel. (B)

Day 4: Esfahan exploring

A full day city tour visiting Naqshe Jahan Square, Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, Imam Mosque and Aali Qapu Building. All these sites are in the UNESCO’s world heritage list. Around Naqshe Jahan Square there are many shops selling Esfahan’s beautiful handicrafts so. We will also visit Chehel Sotun (Forty Pillar) and Hasht Behest (Eight Heaven) building, Zayandeh Roud (Zayandeh River) where we will also visit two Iran’s famous historical bridges; Siose Pol (33 Bridge) and Pole Khajoo (Khajoo Bridge). Zayandeh Roud is an ideal place to take some photos in the river’s sunset along with two bridges. Overnight stay at hotel. (B,L)

Day 5: Esfahan city tour- drive to Kuhpayeh

After having breakfast, we will move to Armenian quarter of Julfa to visit magnificent Vank Cathedral. Then, we will o drive to Kuhpayeh historic town; an old caravanserai only 80 km east of Isfahan, where you will visit the old caravanserai of the town. In the afternoon we will have a walking tour around the town to visit the underground reservoir water and the old castle of the town back to the Sasanan period (1500 years ago) and the historical mosque of Kuhpayeh. Overnight stay in Kuhpa Caravanserai hotel. (B, D)

Day 6: Desert tour, Ghurtan Citadel, Varzaneh desert and the Saltlake

For the second day plan, we considered an exploring activity to visit the neighboring villages of Kuhpayeh as well as Varzaneh historical village, drive towards the desert. On the route we will visit Ghurtan Citadel, dated back to 1100 years ago, Deylamian era, registered in National heritage. We will continue to visit Gavchah, industrial irrigating system which it uses one or two cows to water the agricultural lands. Asiab Shotor with a background of 300 years is a mechanical system to grind the wheat, which is a must to see. Then we will drive to the dry salt lake. Late afternoon, we will drive back to the caravanserai and you will have dinner there. (B, L, D).

Day 7: Visiting Naiin, Meybod - Drive to Yazd

Early morning wake up; having breakfast and drive to Yazd. On the route, we will visit historic towns of Naiin. In Naiin we will visit its historic mosque, anthropology museum and Narin castle. Following Naiin, continue our way to visit Meybod. On the way to Yazd we will visit Chak Chak fire temple (the world’s Zoroastrian Hali dome). We will reach Yazd in the late afternoon staying overnight in a traditional hotel. (B, L)

Day 8: Yazd city tour

Having breakfast; a full day sightseeing tour in Yazd visiting its touristic attractions such as Zoroastrian sites of Dakhmeh (old cemetery & tower of silence), the fire temple, Amir Chakhmagh complex and the main Grand Mosque next to bazaar, Rokn-o- din Shrine and the old prison named after Alexander Prison. Overnight stay in the hotel in Yazd. (B)

Day 9: visiting Mehriz – Abarkuh- Eqlid - Drive to Sisakht

At 6:00 A.M, check out the hotel in Yazd and drive to Sisakht, 408 Km far and takes about 5 h 40 min. we have some visits on the way such as Bagh-e Pahlavanpur, Iran registered Persian Garden in UNESCO, Sareh Yazd and visit an ancient historical town and the castle, Abaarkuh town to visit the Cypress of Abarkuh also called Zoroastrian Sarv. We continue driving to Sisakht which is surrounded by many mountains. Overnight stay at a local house. (B, L, D)

Day 10: Walking on a river through the canyon – local home stay in a village

Having breakfast in the local house and drive to the starting point of the trek in the foothill of Dena mountain chains. We will start our walking from the village through the rice fields. We cross the rivers a couple of times. We will have an amazing sunset scenery from view of the house. Overnight stay in a local house. (B, L, D)

Day 11: Visiting cave- Drive to Shiraz

we will have a half day exploring tour around the mountains and mid-day we will drive to Shiraz city. Overnight stay at hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 12: Pasargadae & Persepolis

After breakfast, we will leave Shiraz towards Pasargadae to visit the tomb of Cyrus the Great before Persepolis. In Persepolis we start a full sightseeing of Persia’s imperial past visiting Naghseh Rajab and Nagshe-Rostam. In the late afternoon, we will drive back to Shiraz. Overnight stay at hotel. (B)

Day 13: Shiraz city tour

In the morning will have a walking tour in downtown visiting Karimkhan fort, Vakil mosque and discovering live bazaar, Nasir-ol-molk mosque and Narenjestan garden. Our day will be finished by visiting mausoleums of Hafez and Sa’adi. Back to the hotel. (B)

Day 14: Fly to Tehran, Departure date

After breakfast you will be free until flying back to Tehran in the afternoon to connect with your flight back home. (B)
