We have created trips that cover this fascinating range from desert to semi dry foothills, to alpine mountain passes, from tree covered trails to semi humid old growth forests down to the sea. This impressive range is rather rare and could be covered within a week at steady walking pace. Iran Possesses other interesting natural features which we cover with other custom made trips. The deserts of Iran contain a variety of picturesque landscapes and fascinating rock formations. A certain region possesses rock formations that remind one of the “Monument Valley” region of Arizona in the US. There is also a range of “Oasis Mountains” crisscrossing these deserts, where one can hike or 4-Wheel through the sandy terrain for a day or two and then end up in the cool breeze of the mountains, plenty of water and greenery. An entirely different environment right in the middle of a desert region! These diverse ecosystems make fascinating and varied journeys which we offer to our guests. Amongst these deserts and mountain pastures there are still traditional nomads moving their flocks and living a more or less pastoral life style. Modernity is endangering this type of existence but still it exists at least for now and is most definitely well worth a look before this way of life becomes only a memory in the mist of time. Add to this menu, many thousands of years of old historical monuments and remnants of lost civilizations scattered throughout Iran.
